KHWARAZMIA. King Azkaswar II, circa 770-818. Drachm (Silver, 26 mm, 1.72 g, 7 h), citing al-Fadl, the vizier of the caliph al-Ma'mun, as Dhu'l Riyasatayn (holder of the two ministries), after AH 198 = AD 813/4. Draped bust of Azkaswar II to right, wearing large and elaborate crown; before head, 'Azkaswar' in Sogdian. Rev. Azkaswar II on horseback to right, holding reins in his right hand and whip in his left; in field to left, Dhu'l Riyasatayn ('Holder of the two Ministries' in Kufic); around, M`RY MLK` SY`WRSPN ('King Azkaswar' in Sogdian). Zeno-16965 (this coin). Rare. Some edge chipping and with minor scratches, otherwise, about very fine.
